Lolo Uweng Shrine is a prominent pilgrimage destination south of Manila. Tens of thousands of people visit the shrine every Friday, and nearly a million devotees from various cities and provinces participate in the annual "Alay Lakad" during Holy Week to receive blessings from the miraculous image of Lolo Uweng. As the number of pilgrims continues to grow each year, the need for a larger and more accommodating space for their pilgrimage has become evident.
